It was pretty good weather on Tuesday for a trip on the Paignton to Dartmouth steam railway. This is some artwork near the Victoria multi storey car park DSC_3842 Crossing the railway near the station - the gates had been down and a large crowd had built up waiting to cross, even though there is a bridge over the railway. DSC_3881 Going through a tunnel, about 500 yards long DSC_3892 The railway passes along the banks of the river dart before terminating at Kingswear with a dedicated ferry to take passengers to Dartmouth on the other side of the river. A good pub to visit is "The Cherub" as they do some good ales and good food, but it is hidden in a narrow alley so all the crowds from the ferry don't also find it ;-) DSC_3903 The train just coming out of the tunnel - this is the return journey so the forward view is obstructed by the engine, but it is strange going through the tunnel as you can see the flames from the furnace DSC_3990 The goodrington sands beach huts DSC_3999 Paignton Beach DSC_4015
