start of my second day in london - walk to the tube station at richmond
an interesting church at richmond
there are various ways to get from richmond into london - the southern rail option gets you to waterloo very quickly
arrival at waterloo
once at waterloo the bakerloo took me straight to oxford circus where i headed to kin cafe for a spot of breakfast
after breakfast i hopped on the victoria line to pimlico
pimlico tube is relatively modern and very basic with just 2 platforms
from the tube i walked to the embankment where i could see mi6 across the river and i then headed towards the tate britain
the tate britain has dome good artworks including a pickled sheep by damien hurst - i tested the 'draw' facility where you could create an artwork
the tate britain had a very impressive entrance hall
after leaving the tate i could hear a lot of noise which on further investigation was a convoy of hundred of tractors with farmers protesting about inheritance tax
next i walked towards victoria with a lot of building works in progress
i stopped to look round the roman catholic cathedral and it was possible to take the lift to the viewing gallery - not bad for £6 and i was the only person up there at the time
next i headed for victoria tube and picked up the circle and district to south kensington where there was a long subway that took me directly to the entrance of the science museum
this is the fourcault pendulum which tracks the earth's rotation
there was a set of concentric mirrors so you could see multiple images of yourself
finally a view of the science museum ground floor gallery - it's all free so good value and i did not even need to pre book
